Micronutrients is a division of Heritage Technologies, LLC,
one of twenty-eight privately-owned businesses which comprise The Heritage Group of companies, based in Indianapolis and
having combined annual revenues of greater than $1 billion.
Micronutrients is the major
supplier of fresh alkaline etchant to the printed wiring board (PWB) industries in North America .
Our line of AdvantEdge products, along with numerous private-label product lines, combine the finest
in etch chemistry and technology available in the industry. Our commitment to quality is demonstrated
by our investment in continual improvement. Beginning in 1996 we have maintained ISO 9000 registration
in our Quality Management System and in 2002 completed the requirements for certification to ISO 9001:2000,
the newest standard.
In addition, Micronutrients receives spent etching solutions – both alkaline etch and cupric –
for use as feedstocks in the manufacture of Micronutrients TBCC ® (TBCC). TBCC is a crystalline
form of basic copper chloride and is an improved inorganic copper source used as a nutrient for animals.
For more information on TBCC please explore our entire website.
Spent PWB etchants have traditionally been managed as hazardous wastes since
promulgation of the USEPA regulations implementing the Resource Conservation and Recovery
Act (RCRA) of 1976. Etchants are by far the largest volume waste stream produced by the industry.
Many companies that would otherwise be considered small quantity generators appear as major
generators of hazardous wastes solely because of the copper-laden etchant. Through our efforts,
all of the agencies involved supported our interpretation of RCRA that the use of these liquids
to manufacture TBCC exempts them from regulation as wastes under the “Use/Reuse” provisions.
As a corollary benefit, the PWB industry is enabled to take credit for beneficial recycling and
for a large reduction in reported “releases” of hazardous waste.
Our goal is to maintain the highest level of customer service possible. To that end we have
committed to upholding our ISO 9001:2000 certification and strive to exceed the high quality requirements
needed to serve the electronics industry.
